Annual investment in sport and leisure has produced an expanding UK sports and construction market, placing significant demands on Architects for the creative of facilities which achieve exemplary design and function. As steadfast energy concerns face public sector facilities, sustainable design has never been more relevant. Have designers fully realised the importance of flexible sustainable solutions in the creation of new facilities? How can architects balance creativity with efficiency, when utility costs for local authority leisure centres have soared by over £40,000 in the last year?
